About Me.
Welcome to 5th grade Religion at St. Teresa School!!
I am currently the Director of Religious Education for St. Teresa Parish. My responsibilities for the parish community include preparing children and adults to receive sacraments in the Catholic Church through ministries like the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), RCIA Youth, Parish School of Religion (PSR), and Sacramental Prep. (kind of a "Catch-up Catechesis") for children who have missed receiving a sacrament, and for 2nd and 8th graders preparing for First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation. I also oversee Children's Liturgy of the Word, Vacation Bible School, coordinate our parish's involvement in this year's PSR Partnership Program, and offer connections and assistance to St. Teresa School's Catholic Identity and faith formation efforts of the faculty and students. I'm pretty excited about the opportunity to be more involved with school efforts this year! But, even more exciting is that this year I have been given a unique opportunity to teach 5th grade Religion at St. Teresa School! The theme for 5th grade religion is SACRAMENTS and that is one my greatest passions to teach about! I have been a professional religious educator for the Catholic Church in one way or another for about 20 years now. Most recently I spent 9 years as the Director of Faith Formation for Adults and Children for SS. Peter and Paul Church in Collinsville. I became very familiar with the Springfield Diocese during that time, and I am now learning more about the Belleville Diocese. I currently live in Collinsville with my son, Charlie, and our German Shepherd-Retriever dog, Marley. We like walking the neighborhood, reading together, playing video games together, eating treats, and chasing squirrels...or at least one of us likes doing that, anyway! I feel blessed and honored to be working with you and your children this year! Please contact me with ideas or questions at any time. [email protected] Parish Office 618-233-3500 School Room 307 |
